Thoh Shun (2014)

Thoh Shun is a tradition and belief of marking with lime what is still maintaining among Khasi tribe in Meghalaya, India. Everyday hundreds of lime marks are made occasionally, without any mind of their own cultural practice. Nevertheless, general feeling of the society settled on the exact places of the wall, fences, light poles, etc. The main idea is to complete already intensively marked spaces as an artwork in strong connection of locals and their tradition. That’s how the identification is happening with occasional marks of unknown people. They are leaving the marks along with fingerprints and with time its merging along with the environment. The identification of all this as a tradition being at the place is a process which unknowingly keeps on involving people for creation.
